Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest no-kill, non-profit animal rescues and shelters. Northshore Humane Society provides foster and adoption services, animal and community enrichment, and a community veterinary clinic on-site. Since 1953, Northshore Humane Society has been aiding abandoned and abused animals of the gulf coast region, including those affected by natural disasters, rescuing thousands of animals with over 1,000 successful adoptions each year. We rely solely on the support from individuals, organizations, and the funds generated by our veterinary clinic to support our services and programs that profoundly benefit the animals and our community.

Our mission at The Toronto Humane Society is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. The day-to-day operation of the THS involves the direct handling of lost, abandoned, unwanted and injured pets. In any given year, approximately 10,000 animals pass through the shelter, which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The injured receive veterinary care; abandoned animals are given a safe haven. Immature and injured animals are placed in foster care until they are strong enough to be placed for adoption. The Toronto Humane Society is supported solely by individual and corporate donations - we do not receive government funding of any kind.

The Humane Society of Westchester, founded in 1911 as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the human/animal bond through the compassionate care and treatment of animals throughout the communities we serve in Westchester County and beyond. To that end, our goal is to create a living environment that is not just a shelter, but a transitional home for stray, lost, abandoned, injured, and abused animals, until they can ultimately be placed in loving permanent homes. Through promotion of successful pet adoption, animal population control, and public education of animal welfare issues, we advance our belief that pet ownership is a lifetime commitment. We service 19 communities in Westchester County.
