Our Mission Solidarity to support the Men and Women who wear the uniform of this community. Founded by first responders for first responders. Our programs provide the ongoing support needed to assist in these challenging times on the frontline. Our member’s work tirelessly to fundraise, donate time, services and provide mental health and wellness care.
Our mission is to be a voice for captive exotic birds and to promote unity within the avian community. We work to fulfill our mission by providing a safe haven for abused or unwanted exotic birds (regardless of species, age, special needs or behavior issues), re-socializing and re-homing eligible companion parrots, and providing educational resources to the avian community. We firmly believe (as do many other animal rights and animal welfare organizations) that animals are not ours to exploit for entertainment or profit, and thus, they should not be bred for these purposes. However, we recognize that there is a diverse range of opinions regarding this issue.
They are a group of women (and a few men) dedicated to saving 1 dog at a time (typically, there are far more than 1). They are a foster based, volunteer group, who pulls “rescue only”, “high kill shelter” dogs at risk, and take on owner surrender dogs. The focus of our organization is the Larger Breeds, as they do not do well in kennels and shelters, often times shutting down and giving up, or a complete change in demeanor.
Leashes of Love Rescue is dedicated and committed to finding furever homes for dogs who not only need them, but deserve them. Our dogs are vetted and cared for by our volunteers and fosters and we are committed to finding the right match for our adoptive families. The mission, vision and our passion is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by placing them into loving forever homes. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in southern California. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.
They find loving homes for rescued track greyhounds and greyhound mixes. Their program focuses on each dog’s well-being, providing quality medical care and TLC as they transition to forever homes. The Greyhound Adoption Center ensures that each dog is well-matched to its new family. Transportation, food, shelter and medical care — often including extensive surgeries for broken legs sustained on the track — are provided. Many dogs are housed in cage-free modules complete with air conditioning and dog runs. The dogs socialize with people, other dogs, cats and children, all in an effort to assess their behavior via their expert profilers. Trained adoption representatives profile each dog and each adopter to find the right fit.
GDLRR was started in December 2004 by a group of business women who saw a need in the Dayton Ohio area. In the last six months, they have branched out and now have numerous fosters in Columbus OH as well. Due to the popularity of the Labrador Retriever in the US and rated as AKC's most popular breed for the last 15 years, has caused over breeding. They help to find homes for these unwanted dogs by placing them in a loving foster caregiver's home until a permanent home can be found. They feel by having dogs in a home environment, they can share information about the dog and assist in getting the dog crate trained, basic obedience, socialization skills, and housebreaking.
Our primary goal is to provide a second chance for companion parrots. We will work to rehabilitate birds who have behavior issues. We do not breed, buy, or sell parrots! We feel that all feathered family members deserve a second chance to find a home and a loving family to join. Each home is carefully screened, and investigated in person, to help assure that each placement is as smooth and well suited as possible. No bird is adopted to a person it shows an obvious dislike for, and no person is allowed to adopt a bird before completing placement visits and screening in order to ensure each bird is place in the right home. We strive to provide the local community with educational programs that enlighten community members about the various birds and the commitment required to care for them. We also strive to provide routine field trips that will further enrich the educational awareness and potentially improve relations between the community and Second Chance Bird Rescue.
