Children awaiting parents (CAP) is dedicated to finding loving adoptive families for children waiting in the foster care system. Roughly half a million children in the U.S. have been removed from unsafe homes, and of these, 108,000 are free for adoption. CAP seeks to find adoptive homes for america's hardest to place children.

Empowering Children and Families advances our mission by providing a comprehensive “roadmap" unique to each family's strengths and challenges. The roadmap engages the entire family, requires demonstrated positive improvement, and provides much needed supports in the areas of mental health, education, social development, and family values. 100% of Empowering Children and Families funding comes from individual donors, community foundations, and corporate partners. This strategy leaves us free from government bureaucracy and political agendas. In the first year ECF will serve five families in the greater Bridgeport area. The staff of four is donating all of their time in the first year to supporting the mission of ECF.
