PEI Family Violence Prevention Services Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1980. Our primary goals are to provide a place of safety for women and children who are victims of abuse, educate the public about the issues of violence against women and family violence, and advocate for the needs of abused women and children. We believe that it is a basic human right to be free of abuse and from fear of abuse in relationships.The organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent a broad range of skills, expertise and commitment to the issues.
The Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) provides HIV/AIDS and sexual health services for South Asians in Toronto and surrounding regions. Our work is focused on three main programs areas: 1. Support for People Living with HIV/AIDS through peer counselling, peer support networks, referrals and treatment information 2. Education for those at-risk of HIV/AIDS and other STIs through workshops, resource development and outreach 3. Community development through volunteerism, arts-based engagement, communications and community based research Our work is grounded in principles of anti-oppression and GIPA/MIPA (the Greater and Meaningful Involvement of People living with HIV/AIDS). We also acknowledge the many social determinants of health such as racism, gender equity, housing, violence, mental health and employment and affect people's health choices and circumstances. We are always learning, growing and building strong partnerships with organizations & people.
