LCHS is a small, private, community-based, not-for-profit organization that provides shelter for unwanted and stray animals (primarily dogs and cats) while working to end pet overpopulation, reduce the need for euthanasia, and improve the humane treatment and well-being of companion animals.

To prevent cruelty to and neglect of animals within the state of Colorado through collaborating with law enforcement agencies relating to the prevention of cruelty and neglect, educating the public on animal welfare issues, and advocating for the humane treatment of animals through the support of animal-friendly legislation.

To continue to be their shelter from the storm, a safe haven for companion animals, providing food, medical care and human tenderness. To continue to enrich the lives of animals, families and communities through adoption services, education, and by taking a firm stand against animal cruelty.

H.A.L.T. (Humans and; Animals Learning Together) is a program benefiting at-risk adolescents and rescued dogs from local shelters. Adolescents teach dogs basic obedience training, providing therapeutic intervention for the student trainers while increasing the adopt-ability of unwanted dogs.

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lot animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.

It shall be the mission of the Humane Society of South Brevard to rescue, shelter, and place homeless cats in loving homes, to care for all those sheltered until they find homes or until the end of the ninth life, and to secure the support necessary to continue, improve and build services in our community.
