Since our founding in 1924 we’ve been preserving Boone County’s history for its future generations. We collect, preserve and exhibit historic artifacts, records and artwork of the people of Boone County. The Boone County Historical Society is a non-profit organization that owns and operates its physical presence, the Boone County History & Culture Center. Each trail with its own importance; Santa Fe Trail was a trail of commerce. Oregon Trail was a route of emigrants to discover new territory. California Trail went west to find “gold”. Lewis and Clark to find a primary water route that would link the east to the west.
