A dedicated team of Volunteers provide companionship, listening and emotional support to residents of our community who are facing a life threatening illness or injury. The Volunteers offer relief to enable primary caregivers to feel comfortable to take time away or rest. This care can be provided in a home, a hospital, or a long-term care setting. There are NO FEES for these services. Our Volunteers are people who display sensitivity, good communication skills, and willingness to help and have respect for the privacy, dignity and self-determination of the person. They are carefully screened and have completed an approved Volunteer Training Progrm. They receive ongoing education, supervision and group support. Agency governacy is by a volunteer Board of Directors which is drawn from all our communities.

The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation raises sustainable funds and awareness for the priorities and needs of Markham Stouffville Hospital(MSH). MSH is a community hospital based in Markham that was built to serve a population of 110,000, but is now serving over 330,000 people annually. MSH proudly opened its expanded building in March 2013 immediately followed by phase two of its expansion campaign – extensive renovations to its original building. This renewal, scheduled for completion in August 2014, will complete MSH’s transformation into a unique, state-ofthe-art health and wellness campus.

The Ottawa Food Bank supplies 138 emergency food programs, bringing hope to people who need it most. Dozens of organizations such as The Shepherds of Good Hope, The Ottawa Mission and the Salvation Army rely heavily on The Ottawa Food Bank, as do school meal programs, shelters and neighbourhood grocery programs throughout the National Capital Region. City Centre Care Society provides care to the marginalized of dowtown Vancouver. In operation since 1907, the society is licensed to provide services to 194 residents and tenants in three programs: 100 residents in Complex Care, 22 residents in the Addiction Recovery Program and 72 residents in Assisted Living.
A non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Airdrie and District develop the capacity to provide community hospice support to those faced with end of life palliative care. Includes but is not limited to fostering volunteer programs designed to steward palliative care for individuals and counselling for their families, with life threatening disease thereby enabling them to stay at home longer.

New reported cases of HIV/AIDS remain high throughout New Brunswick and across Canada, and are increasing, particularly among women, injection drug users, young people and other vulnerable communities. Though challenging to reach, these vulnerable populations continue to be the focus of much of AIDS New Brunswick's efforts in supporting education and prevention resources and initiatives for New Brunswickers. Helping people to cope and improve their quality of life guides the delivery of all our support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their informal and formal caregivers. We strive to support individuals and organizations by providing and supporting opportunities for information sharing, skills-building, emotional support, peer support, referrals and advocacy.
