The purpose of the home is to assist families in need by providing a safe home-like setting for children until they are reunited with family or achieve independence resident children range in age from infant to 22 the average resident census is 50-65 limited housing is also available for youth over the age of 18 if they are enrolled in a school of higher education  

Holston United Methodist Home for Children provides hope and healing for a brighter future by sharing the love of Jesus with children and families struggling with life's challenges.

The mission of the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas' Care Van Program is to immunize uninsured and medically underserved children, and provide targeted preventative health services to help families throughout Texas.

Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children promotes early identification and intervention of hearing impairment and provides learning in a rich auditory-oral environment so that children with hearing loss can develop to their maximum potential through listening, language and speech.

PROVIDE QUALITY CARE FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM THEIR HOMES BECAUSE OF DEATH, DIVORCE, SEPARATION, NEGLECT, ABUSE, OR INABILITY TO ADJUST TO THEIR PRESENT LIVING SITUATION. THE HOME SEEKS TO PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT OF LOVE, SECURITY, AND ACCEPTANCE WHERE A CHILD CAN GROW AND DEVELOP AS AN INDIVIDUAL.

Every 14 seconds, a child is orphaned by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Nyumbani serves these abandoned children in Kenya, providing a loving home, medical services and community-based care in the slum communities of Nairobi. Nyumbani Village is a self-sustaining community to serve orphans and elders who have been left behind by the "lost generation" of the AIDS pandemic.
