Humane Society of Dallas County, founded in 1975, ministers to the indigent animal population, promotes responsible pet ownership, seeks to ensure humane treatment of all animals, and to improve their quality of life. We deal primarily with the homeless animals of Dallas, and strive to be an integral part of a great city where ALL life is valued and cared for. Our shelter, Dog & Kitty City, was the first no-kill shelter in Dallas. We are dedicated to educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering in hopes of becoming a "no kill" city.
Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH) is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that serves Kent County by partnering with low-income families to build simple, decent, affordable homes. It was founded in 1990 and became a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since that time, the Kent County affiliate has built 17 homes and currently has one nearing completion. We are able to build affordable homes by engaging the community to volunteer at all stages of our operation, securing donated resources, and selling the home at no profit with a zero interest loan.
H.A.L.T. (Humans and; Animals Learning Together) is a program benefiting at-risk adolescents and rescued dogs from local shelters. Adolescents teach dogs basic obedience training, providing therapeutic intervention for the student trainers while increasing the adopt-ability of unwanted dogs.

Chartered in 1953, Simcoe and District Humane Society volunteers have helped animals in and around Norfolk County. SDHS is a non-profit, charitable organization relying on fundraising activities and donations from members of community. Volunteers look after every aspect of the Society including daily operations and working hands on with the animals from intake to adoption. Foster homes are a great asset to the Society as the organization prepares to raise funds for a much needed building.
