Caring for Cambodia (CFC) is educating a generation of Cambodian children today, to make a difference for Cambodia's tomorrow. Our schools are safe, modern and technologically equipped. We train teachers, provide tools and remove barriers to learning. We build Cambodian leadership to guide and sustain these schools, so that generations of CFC graduates can reach their highest potential and make vaouable contributions to their community.

At KBI we strive to feed hungry children in the city of Kettering over the weekend. Children with limited food at home are able to receive breakfast and lunch at school. Over the weekend, they do not have the same availability to food. That’s where KBI steps in!

Book Baskets, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established in 1995 with the goal of encouraging reading through book ownership. For over 20 years we have been deeply committed to giving new or lightly used books to those children in our area who might not otherwise have books of their own. We currently serve over 30 local social service agencies or education programs. On average, we place over 20,000 books per year into the appreciative hands of children from the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area. A small bookplate is placed in the front of each book, allowing the recipient to identify the gift book as his or her own.

Most of the rural children in India are undernourished because they eat poor quality food due to ignorance coupled with poverty. Because of their malnutrition most of the children are not alert and poor in their studies. Many children are also anemic and susceptible to frequent infections. To counteract that condition STAR KID provides all children with nutritious lunch comprised of lentils, green leafy vegetables, rice and clarified butter. They also use fortified salt with Iodine and Iron to improve their general health. The lunch is supplanted by a glass of milk in the afternoon. This lunch cost only $1 for the whole day for 1 child.
