The mission of Team Activities for Special Kids is to enrich and nurture the lives of children with special needs by providing opportunities for them to participate in sports, recreation and social activities. These activities help to encourage and develop new skills, as well as promote social interaction and friendships.

Carpenter’s Shelter’s mission is to support the homeless in achieving sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education, and advocacy. Over the last 30 years, we have evolved from a small group of concerned citizens providing shelter from the cold to an innovative leader in the effort to permanently prevent and end homelessness. We are proud to offer the broadest range of homeless services in the City of Alexandria. Each year, more than 600 men, women, and children increase their housing stability and self-sufficiency with customized, supportive care. To further improve our effectiveness, we have undertaken an ambitious property redevelopment project that will add affordable and permanent supportive housing to our rapidly gentrifying neighborhood.

Open House Ministries is a life restoring Christian family homeless shelter. In an ideal world, there would be no homeless families, however in Clark County, homeless families with children are a significant population struggling with a combination of social conditions. We believe that broken families can change when treated with dignity, unconditional love, appropriate intervention and the chance for a fresh start. We are committed to providing housing, food, clothing and case management to families with children, leading them to healing of body, mind and spirit. Through a supportive community, we provide families new paths to healthy living, restoring hope and breaking the bonds of poverty and homelessness
