Founded in 1910, the purpose of the Sufi Movement is to work towards unity, [the ideal of Universal Sufism and the Religion of the Heart]. Its main object is to bring humanity, divided as it is into so many different sections, closer together in the deeper understanding of life. It is a preparation for a world service, chiefly in three ways. One way is the philosophical understanding of life; another is bringing about brotherhood/sisterhood among races, nations, and creeds; and the third way is the meeting of the world's greatest need, which is the religion of the day. Its work is to bring to the world that natural religion which has always been the religion of humanity: to respect one another's belief, scripture, and teacher.
The Center for Inner Resources Development (CIRD) is a unique Knowledge Institution that helps individuals discover and harness their inner resources through a deeper understanding of the human mind, and develop a poised all-embracing personality. The first CIRD came up in Vasundhara near Delhi in 1999. Workshops for corporations and administrators, classes and satsangs for seekers, and special cultural classes for underprivileged children are held there regularly. A center has been established in Malaysia and similar ones are coming up in Jamshedpur, India, and in the United States. Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha, a renowned spiritual master and teacher of Vedanta from India for more than five decades is our inspiration and guide.
Our mission is to help students discover, build, and start living a life of greatness. We desire to walk alongside students as they discover God’s plan and purpose for their lives. We hope to train young people to see that their faith is not limited to their own “personal walk with jesus,” but that Jesus Christ wants to influence and reign over every area of life. All of life is spiritual – including our interests, relationships, talents and career. We want to help students develop in all areas of life so they might glorify God and advance his kingdom through their lives. We don’t believe going to church, praying, or being in the mission field is “more spiritual” than becoming an engineer, artist, teacher, or business leader. We want all of God’s people to know how they can serve him in the field in which God has called them to serve and live.
In 2011 it was the vision of Randy and Jan Morgan to develop a sustainable program that would break the cycle of poverty they so often witnessed while working in the public schools in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. By bringing students and teachers , across multiple grade levels, together to participate in academic, spiritual and practical activities, they have successfully forged many long term, powerful relationships among the students and the adults. These relationships are another avenue of hope and motivation for each child. Since the summer of 2011 BridgesWork has grown in both the number and types of program offerings. Today over 100 students annually, from several schools in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District, come together for summer and Saturday activities. During this time students participate in reading, digital literacy, Bible study, challenging games and team sports, music, cooking/nutrition classes, service projects, digital photography, and leadership development.
St. Matthew's is concerned with the developmental growth of children. Our students learn through active exploration and interaction with the teacher, parents, other children and materials using hands-on activities in a non-academic atmosphere. Experiences are provided that meet children's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas -physical, social, emotional, and intellectual. Each child is viewed as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development. The curriculum and adults' interaction are responsive to individual differences in ability and interests. Different levels of ability, development, and learning styles are expected, accepted, and used to design appropriate activities. Interactions and activities are designed to develop children's self-esteem and positive feelings toward learning. St. Matthew's also provides a unique involvement and learning experience for parents. St. Matthew's Cooperative Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion or ethnic origin. Our educational philosophy is Christian centered, promoting values which include affirming the inherent worth and dignity of every person, justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association Chicago Chapter (DDMBA-Chicago) was established in 1993. We are a local affiliate chapter of Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Taiwan, and are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization in the United States. At DDMBA-Chicago, we teach and promote the understanding and practice of Chan Buddhism, cultivating wisdom and compassion, and the freedom and ease of body and mind through Chan practice. The vision behind our efforts is that of “Uplifting the Character of Humanity and Building a Pure Land on Earth” as promoted by our late teacher and Founder of DDM, Chan Master Sheng Yen. Our localized mission is to create a vibrant and sustainable community by encouraging spiritual growth and promoting happiness. To achieve the vision and mission, we offer various practice and caring programs, including group meditation programs, chanting, book study, social activities, and more. Through fluent English and Chinese language skills, we help to bring benefits to both English- and Chinese-speakers, in their individual lives and throughout the society, through an understanding of Buddhism as a living philosophy.
Our Mission: Advancing community transformation throughout Greater Houston by helping churches serve local schools. Imagine the impact on our city if EVERY school across Greater Houston had a committed church partner serving with no strings attached and no agenda. School staff and administrators already do so much, but the challenges in our local schools are often overwhelming and the search for long-term community partners is difficult. To help with this, Loving Houston works closely with school districts and church networks across Greater Houston to mobilize churches to serve. There are 4,000+ churches across Greater Houston. Your investment will allow us to reach and equip these churches to serve their local schools excellently and effectively. With your help, we can indeed advance community transformation throughout Greater Houston by helping each church serve its local school! (What about the separation of church and state? Great question! Churches can serve schools just as any other community partner would – mentoring, supporting teachers, giving donations, etc. A church can NOT proselytize, invite children to church, or initiate conversations on religion. However, the possibilities for relationship-building and positive impact are priceless and innumerable. The key to effective, sustainable church-school partnerships is open dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to school district guidelines. Loving Houston interacts closely with school districts across Greater Houston, and our Equipping Sessions and Leader Gatherings help equip churches to serve schools with excellence and discretion.) John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
We believe that when students, their families, and their teachers flourish, individual communities are strengthened. And we hope that as communities are strengthened, our city will become a safer, more compassionate place for generations to come.

Global Ministry Resources is a non-profit Christian based organization that “goes out to glean the fields” for those who support others. Ministry is the function of serving others. Whether as a pastor, nurse, missionary, essential worker or teacher, there are many who go beyond the call of duty to serve. We are here to let them know that their giving does not go unnoticed.
