BREAST CANCER ACTION SENSIBILISATION AU CANCER DU SEIN

Founded in 1992, Breast Cancer Action is operates a post-diagnosis support and resource centre meeting the needs of those living with, or affected by breast cancer in our community. As a survivor-directed charitable organization, Breast Cancer Action (also commonly known as BCA) offers active BCA members access to a variety of core programs and client services including on-site exercise programs, pre-operative presentations delivered with our partners and lymphedema educational outreach workshops. Whether it is at the time of diagnosis, during treatment and while navigating the challenging path to recovery, Breast Cancer Action is there for our members and their family every step of the way. Our dedicated team of volunteers (all breast cancer survivors)are available to listen and lend support through our private Peer Counselling Program. Our staff offer information and resources in order to empower those diagnosed with breast cancer to make informed decisions.

CANADIAN BREAST CANCER NETWORK/RESEAU CANADIEN DU CANCER DU

The Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) is a survivor-directed, national network of 225 partner and member groups and hundreds of individuals. CBCN is a national link between all groups and individuals concerned about breast cancer, and represents the concerns of all Canadians affected by breast cancer and those at risk.

THE NORTHERN CANCER FOUNDATION

The Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) supports cancer research and patient care at the Northeast Cancer Centre in Sudbury, Ontario.

Fox Chase Cancer Center

Fox Chase's mission is to reduce the burden of human cancer through the pursuit of knowledge in basic biological research; to conduct research specifically related to cancer causes, prevention, and treatment; and to apply this knowledge to the prevention of cancer and the treatment of cancer patients. Fox Chase has the oldest and third-largest cancer center support grant from the National Cancer Institute and is the oldest cancer specialty hospital in the nation. In January 2000, Fox Chase opened the nation's first facility devoted to comprehensive cancer prevention research. Recent medical studies from the Canadian Dermatology Association and the Canadian Cancer Society have shown that ever increasing numbers of Canadians are being diagnosed with skin cancers. Current Canadian statistics indicate skin cancer diagnosis now exceed the combined total for lung, breast and prostate cancers. The fortunate part of this news is that unlike many types of cancer, almost all skin cancers are preventable.
