The PTA brings the community together and provide support through donations, volunteering, and fundraisers like the Fall Festival. The PTA provides funds that bring technology to the classroom, supports the growth of the schools arts and music program, and provides other educational opportunities for students.

Provides support for our families, coordinates counseling services, parent education and assists parents to access a wide array of services available to them in the community (food, housing, clothing, child care, health and dental care, food stamps, AFDC, homeless shelters, legal advice, etc.).

To provide much needed nutrition for those children in need over the weekend, throughout our school district.

We have a tradition of providing school-wide music and arts programs which are crucial elements that contribute to our student's academic success. We stress cooperation and independent learning, reinforcing an atmosphere of friendship and mutual support with school-wide projects. New Traditions Elementary PTA is part of PTA California.

The Jose Ortega Elementary School PTA strives to positively impact the lives of our children and families through community building, academic enrichment, and advocacy.

Teachers on Wheels is a community-based adult literacy organization that matches trained volunteer tutors with adult learners who wish to improve their reading and writing skills. This program offers a good educational alternative to adults who prefer not to, or cannot, attend regularly scheduled lessons in a more formal setting. This service and related materials are available to the public free of charge. Confidentiality is assured.
