Girls Justice League

The Girls Justice League seeks to change the directional so that girls are directly impacting the systems that hold such enormous power over their futures. All too often, girls, young women and those who identify as female, particularly girls of color and those from low income communities, find the direction of their lives impacted and dictated by myriad systems and institutions, including juvenile justice, public education, workforce development, public health and human services, and child welfare. The Girls Justice League is a collective of young women and their allies working to build and reinforce a culture where girls are fully empowered and where gender, race, and other disparities are identified and confronted in the systems that affect their futures.

Girls Health Ed

Girls Health Ed is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which seeks to educate adolescent girls about their health and well being. Our mission is to empower girls worldwide to make healthy and informed choices throughout their lives. We do this through a workshop-based program with five modules covering the full spectrum of health education. Our modules are nutrition, body image, physical activity, personal care; hygiene, and reproductive health. By focusing on low-income girls and young women who are not able to obtain information about their changing bodies from their school or home environments, we can instill confidence through knowledge. 60 MILLION GIRLS

There are an estimated 57 million children around the world who do not attend primary school - more than half of these are girls. Basic literacy and numeracy are the fundamental tools that will enable girls and women, as well as boys and men, to take hold of their lives and develop solutions adapted to the needs of their communities and country. Research convincingly shows that programs directed to the education of girls are more effective than virtually any other community investment in the developing world. Basic quality education provides girls with access to health and nutrition information for themselves and their family - including helping to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS. It provides a safe place to grow as they learn. It gives them the knowledge to provide economic support to their family.
