At Coco's Cupboard, we envision a world in which no dog or cat is disposable. That vision is what drives our leaders and volunteers. Practically speaking, what that means to us is that we need to take action in prevention of unplanned breeding, help keep pets in their homes that are financially distressed, and rehabilitate and rehome pets that are abandoned or abused. All of our programs and services are targeted to one of those goals; thus, our mission..."We are here to stem the tide of abandoned dogs and cats on the southern crescent of Atlanta. We will fight for every animal in need, and we will work tirelessly to prevent future unwanted litters, surrenders and abandonments. that is our commitment."

CORRAL pairs at-risk girls with rescued horses to promote healing, transformational growth and ultimately, lasting life-change. The CORRAL Riding Academy is a youth-serving nonprofit operating out of Cary, North Carolina. This program’s mission pairs at-risk girls between the ages of eleven and eighteen with rescued horses to promote healing, transformational growth, and ultimately, lasting life change. CORRAL is intended as a long-term intervention for the youth, requiring a minimum of one year’s commitment from each participant, and anticipating a four to seven year commitment for each student with reapplication every year. The intention of CORRAL is to shepherd youth through their difficult teenage years and into college. The structure of CORRAL is based on five components: horseback riding, vocational training, tutoring, equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), and mentorship. These components are designed to allow participants to gain equine knowledge and skills, and also develop the behaviors, attitudes, and skills necessary for success in life beyond horses. CORRAL accepts participants from referring agencies within the community including Human Services, local law enforcement, Juvenile Justice, Teen Court, school teachers and administrators, and other sources. Candidates are selected through an application and interview process. This process measures and compares level of risk and level of commitment with the end goal being that selected participants will demonstrate both a high level or risk and a high level of commitment.

We educate at every opportunity we have, schools, girl and boy scouts, junior volunteers. 3 Hearts 4 Paws Animal Rescue was founded with love and passion and is dedicated not only to the lives of those we save, but to the so many lives that are lost. We are a NJ non profit organization, and recognized 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization, comprised of volunteers who give selflessly and open their hearts and their homes, as a stepping stone to the permanent home every rescue animal dreams of. We are not a shelter... each of our rescues are cared for in the warmth of their foster homes, as we help them on their journey waiting for the place they can call their own.

We are a 100% volunteer organization with our volunteers pouring their dedication and determination into providing daily care for all of our horses. Our Arizona horse rescue facility accommodates 15 rescued horses on any given day. Triple R strives to be a partner in the equine community by providing awareness and education about options for helping horses in need. We offer opportunities for educational programs, schools, groups and individuals to participate in spreading this awareness, and by having groups and individuals become involved in Triple R's daily activities. Our goal is to be an educational resource for any group that can benefit from a relationship with our horses. Veterinarian-technician students from Anthem College, Boy/Girl Scouts earning their badges, and many other community/service-minded groups have benefited from their time spent at Triple R. Your tax-deductible donations are the foundation of our horse rescue and adoption process. Heaven Can Wait is committed to providing our rescued equine residents a safe haven where they do not starve, are not neglected, do not go without medical care, someplace where they are safe from abuse and from ever having to face great suffering and untimely death. We act on the belief that these noble animals, which we have relied on for so long for our own survival, deserve to live in comfort, safety and good health until their days are done. Along with our commitment to continue the care of our rescued residents, is our commitment to provide the opportunity to educate children and adults about not only the enjoyment of owning an equine and the wonderful bond that can be created between humans and equines, but also about the responsibility, the knowledge, the costs, and the time that is required for such ownership. Only through education and awareness can we all improve the quality of life for all equines. Cruelty and neglect should never be acceptable options. We also are committed to opening our sanctuary to others, i.e. therapists, who wish to use our facility and the horses for their own equine-facilitated therapeutic activities and we are open to any visitor. The magic of our equine residents is that they have found a way to forgive the bad inflicted upon them by humans in their pasts and are willing to bring laughter, joy and education to special needs kids, to girl scout troops, to church groups and to many others, and they bring great pleasure to those who love horses and who just want to be around them, their smell, their character and understanding. We are a happy Sanctuary.

Who We Are: The need for a grassroots organization that would galvanize communities across Africa to positively contribute towards sustainable management of natural resources was an idea born out of a discussion by a group of environment and natural resource management practitioners gathered in Arusha Tanzania in 2010. The idea was subsequently shared with other like-minded individuals and culminated in the formation and subsequent registration of Africa Nature Organization as Non-Governmental Organization on the World Wetlands Day 2nd February 2012 in Kenya. Our focus has been to promote sustainable environmental and natural resource management best practices among grassroots communities working closely with civil society organizations, private sector actors and Government. Our Vision: A well-managed environment and natural resource base benefiting People and Wildlife. Our Mission: To enhance sustainable management of environment and natural resources by empowering grassroots communities, supporting development of effective natural resource management instruments, promotion of green innovations and the advancement of wise-use practices. Programmes: Our work is organized around three themes. These are conservation, people's organizations and livelihoods. 1. Environmental Education and Awareness Sustained environmental education and awareness campaigns have been known to change the behavior and attitudes of stakeholders towards environment and natural resources. Africa Nature Organization environmental education and awareness campaigns target both the young and the old through targeted campaigns such as the Young People4Nature Initiative, environmental demonstrations, environmental days, cross-site visits, workshops and seminars are some of the activities in this category. 2. Conservation of Species and Habitats With the threat of species extinction and habitat loss aggravated by climate change, Africa Nature Organization has taken a special interest in the conservation of species and habitats through rehabilitation, restoration and protection. Afforestation on terrestrial areas, coral transplant in marine ecosystems, dyke construction, development of management plans, support for community guards to protect and monitor species and habitats are some of the activities undertaken to reduce species and habitat loss. 3. Enterprise-led Conservation (ECO) Communities for ages have depended on natural resources for their livelihoods. However, with dwindling natural resource base due to extraction of natural resources for commercial purposes, population increase and climate changes, communities have trapped in a vicious cycle of destroying environment and natural resources for survival. To stem this downward spiral, Africa Nature Organization works with grassroots communities to empower them with business skills and knowledge to initiate nature-friendly enterprises and link them with markets. 4. Research and Innovation for Conservation (RI-Conserve): Relevant information to undertake important decisions regarding natural resources has been an impediment to sustainable management of environment and natural resources. This has been more profound with grassroots communities and organizations, including government, working to empower them to sustainably manage environment and natural resources. To bridge the information gap, Africa Nature Organization undertakes research and develops innovative ways of overcoming environmental challenges facing communities, civil society organizations, private organizations and governments. Baseline surveys, environmental impact assessments, documentation of indigenous knowledge on biological resources, and innovative mobile technology for conservation are some of the activities undertaken in this category. 5. Conservation Communication (COCO): Communicating conservation information to relevant stakeholders is key in to their engagement and involvement in our conservation effort. Conservation Communication maintains stakeholder interest through: Newsletter, Development and distribution of environmental documentaries, Production of other education, information and communication materials.

Big Dawgs Rescue was founded in May 2009 by Joanne Rivero, and is run entirely by volunteers. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abandoned pets by placing them into loving forever homes. Although they still focus on large breed dogs, they have expanded their efforts to include pets of all shapes and sizes. Once in their rescue, animals live in real homes with foster families rather than in cages, and are shown the love and attention many of them have never known. The sick are made healthy, and those with behavioral issues stemming from neglect or abuse are shown compassion and understanding as they learn to trust again. They are against breed discrimination, and they believe it is their mission to educate the public about how proper pet ownership can make any breed of dog into a loving family member.

The Spirit of Alexandria Foundation was created to carry on the legacy of Alexandria Bennett, a little girl whose passion for nature and generosity was evident to everyone around her. Through this foundation, it is her family and friends mission to help children experience nature and all its wonderment. The Spirit of Alexandria Foundation will work in cooperation with partners in the places that she loved, both close to home and across the country.
