GlobalGirl Media (GGM) is an nonprofit organization that develops the voice and media literacy of young women in underserved communities by teaching them to create and share digital journalism designed to improve scholastic achievement, ignite community activism and spark social change. The existing gender gap in media, particularly new media, obstructs the ability of women and girls' to influence change at local and global levels. By linking young women internationally with seasoned reporters, educators and mentors, GlobalGirl Media teaches girls that their voice matters, their story counts.

Wild West Women Inc

Our primary purpose is to increase public awareness of women’s achievements and their roles in history and to provide positive public images of women and girls. To fulfill these purposes, Wild West Women, Inc. will, with a particular emphasis on films concerning women’s issues, women’s history and women creators: produce educational films and accompanying educational materials; distribute educational films and videos to the general public; provide training in independent and educational film making, with special efforts to include women and girls of diverse cultures; and provide and sponsor other public educational film, video and arts activities. Founded in 1994.

Mother of Many

Founded by Apple Distinguished Educator and Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer Daphne Bradford, Mother of Many (M.O.M. http://www.motherofmany.com) is a grassroots nonprofit using technology and healthy eating programs to keep high school students engaged in school and gain workplace skills. Serving Los Angeles’ lowest performing inner city schools such as Locke, Crenshaw and Dorsey high schools in South Los Angeles—M.O.M. aims to “bridge the digital and STEM career divide” in order to close the achievement gap in neighborhoods where African American and Latino students have little access to technology and fresh foods.
