National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association is a non-profit voluntary health agency dedicated to the prevention and ultimate elimination of Tay-Sachs, Canavan Disease and related lysosomal storge diseases (the allied diseases.)

Their mission at Fish River Rural Health (FRRH) is to provide access to comprehensive primary and preventive care of the highest quality to the underserved population and to improve the health care status of the residents of the Upper St. John Valley.

PREVENTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE SPREAD OF HIV & AIDS! HIV/AIDS is a preventable disease that has reached epidemic proportions. New reported cases of HIV/AIDS remain high throughout New Brunswick and across Canada, and are increasing, particularly among women, injection drug users, young people and other vulnerable communities. Though challenging to reach, these vulnerable populations continue to be the focus of much of AIDS New Brunswick's efforts in supporting education and prevention resources and initiatives for New Brunswickers. Helping people to cope and improve their quality of life guides the delivery of all our support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their informal and formal caregivers. We strive to support individuals and organizations by providing and supporting opportunities for information sharing, skills-building, emotional support, peer support, referrals and advocacy.

The past thirty years of protecting children, ages newborn through thirteen years, in crisis situations has made one thing perfectly clear: our job will never be done and there will always be more we can do. This mindset has led us to making great strides in preventing child abuse and neglect by extending case management services to the whole family when a child is admitted into our emergency shelter. Our Emergency Shelter services are essential in keeping children safe and secure while opening up a doorway to address the underlying issues that lead to child abuse and neglect. Critical case management (parenting classes, referrals to financial management classes and substance abuse programs, and a collaborative network of agencies and community resources) helps us to alleviate the immediate crisis situation while focusing on eliminating the cause of that situation.  Prevention is a key component to ending the violent cycle of child abuse and neglect. Our STEP Parenting program prevents child abuse and neglect by teaching caregivers valuable parenting skills and connecting them to critical community resources. Teen parents gain job skills, education, and parenting and life skills through our No Kidding: Straight Talk from Teen Parents program.

The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester's mission is to to provide support to those coping with a breast cancer diagnosis, to make education and advocacy a priority, and to empower women and men to participate fully in decisions relating to breast cancer. Our focus is on breast and gynecological cancer support, education and advocacy. We also fund breast cancer research that focuses on cause (initiation), prevention, and halting progression of disease (metastasis).

Our mission is to educate Americans about Diabetes to create awareness and help in the prevention of this disease.

THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION works in Burma/Myanmar,Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines & Thailand. Our mission is: "HELP US,HELP OTHERS, HELP THEMSELVES" -working with local eye Doctors in these SE Asian countries to help prevent & cure blindness. This is achieved through education, training and mission supply for outreach cataract surgery programs to the rural & urban poor . To date for example we have over the last two decades, contributed lens implants that have been implanted in over 65,000 patients' eyes to help them see again -curing their blindness. Ongoing training and education, upgrades the knowledge and skill -sets of young Eye Doctors in training so that they can treat their own people better, without reliance on outside Ophthalmologists. This builds their health care systems closer to modern world standards. We respond to specific requests for assistance in placing young Eye Doctors in residency & Fellowship programs out of country , Also supply of anti-fungals for the Burmese fishermen with corneal infections after the Nargis Cyclone hit the Irawaddy delta region of Myanmar. Our goal is sustainable self-sufficiency for eye care in these developing nations. We have annual missions that incorporate training & lectures at university based teaching hospitals where possible to assist their development. During these missions we process requests for equipment, traing and supplies and coordinate with industry in the US to raise supplies.
