Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold!
The mission of Girls on the Run-DC (GOTR-DC) is to: improve the lives and future potential of girls by cultivating critical cognitive and emotional attributes and skills; promote girls' health and well-being by integrating running into their daily lives; and narrow the disparities in both social-emotional and physical well-being among economically disadvantaged girls by removing barriers that limit access to high-quality youth development programs. We serve girls in grades 3-8 with a proven, evidence-based curriculum that integrates social-emotional learning (SEL) content with running instruction delivered by trained adult mentors in a small group setting.
Girls Empowered Mentally for Success, Inc. (GEMS) was designed with gender specific youth development focus to assist at risk girls ages 10-17. Our organization outcomes include the development of social competencies which ensures a healthy emotional and mental transition to womanhood. The organizational model consists of a seven-year continuum of programs, services, and resources that provides cohesion in a fragmented system and eliminates gaps and inconsistencies. Our five tiers of programming are designed to develop internal and external assets based on grade levels. Girls are equipped to return to the community as mentors, facilitators, volunteers and GEMS Alumni. Girls Empowered Mentally for Success, Inc. seeks to create healthy, developmentally appropriate transitions for girls, as they move forward from one grade to the next. Our mission is to engage elementary, middle, and high school girls, empower them to discover their passion and purpose through creativity and wisdom.

Girls on the Run is a proven, transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grades. Across Athens, Atlanta and North Georgia, we teach social-emotional skills through a research-based curriculum that incorporates dynamic interactive lessons and running games. Our girls grow in confidence and learn how to express themselves, manage emotions, resolve conflict, create balance in their lives, choose and maintain healthy relationships, set goals, and stand up for themselves and others. They also work as a team to create and execute a community impact project. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event together.
The East Norriton Girls Athletic Association (ENGAA) was established in 1977 to provide athletic opportunities for girls ages five through sixteen.
